REP. ARMANDO -MANDO- MARTINEZ HONORS MERCEDES POLICE CHIEF OLGA H. MALDONADO

Representative Armando "Mando" Martinez authored and passed House Resolution 625 on Wednesday, April 13, 2005. The resolution honored Chief Maldonado for her accomplishments and service with the Mercedes Police Department. "Chief Maldonado's honoring was well deserved today," Representative Martinez stated. "Her honoring is a direct product of her department for all of the positive things they have accomplished in the City of Mercedes."

Olga H. Maldonado was named the first female police chief in Mercedes, as well as one of the first for the entire Rio Grande Valley. Chief Maldonado was further recognized for her extensive involvement in the development of Mercedes through her extensive charity work throughout the year. A portion of H.R. 625 read, "Olga Maldonado embodies the highest ideals of her noble profession, and her dedication to the City of Mercedes is truly deserving of special recognition." "Chief Maldonado encompasses many of the values that any police chief should be made of and for that it was an honor for me to give her recognition," Martinez said.
